Google Apps

With Google Apps you can access your emails, calendar and documents from anywhere as long as there’s an internet connection. You can also use Google forms for surveys, Google sites, Google chat for instant messaging and Google Hangouts for video conferencing.

Case studies

Everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment and Blackpool Wyre & Fylde Council for Voluntary Service is no different. Project Manager Kim Wood decided to see what he could do to make savings and started to research tools that might help. He came across Google apps which had made a real impact on the way he and his team work.

  • Access your work email, calendar, documents and more from anywhere that has an internet connection.
  • No need for costly servers and maintenance contracts to run your organisation’s IT needs.
  • Easily allows documents and calendars to be shared.

  • Documents doesn’t have the full functionality such as MS Office.
  • Learning curve for users as they get used to a new way of working

ecoroamer Although no longer free, Google Apps is now even better for small distributed teams with the new version of Google Hangouts tightly integrated. We use it extensively and it has saved us a ton of money by allowing everyone to be remote and yet still really work together.

kimwood unfortunately the free version for 10 or fewer users has recently been withdrawn, but it is still very cost effective.
