Google Maps

Jo McQuade

Whether you're walking, driving, taking public transport or you're on your bike, you can use Google Maps to find your destination, get directions and receive an estimated journey time. You can access Google Maps on your desktop or mobile device, so it's great if you're on the go a lot.

Benefits

  • Free
  • Real time journey planner for car, public transport, bike or on foot
  • Interactive

Considerations

  • Depending on how fast you walk/cycle or how bad the traffic is, the estimated journey time may not be accurate, so it's sometimes best to set off for your destination a bit earlier.
  • Sometimes it doesn't bring up the most efficient route, which is impossible to know if you're not from that area - you could end up going the long way!
