In an increasingly digital world, donating to charity has never been easier, but we’re always looking for ways to keep simplifying the process. Well now a new social platform has found the latest solution.

The #Donate service has been set up by retail technology company, #Pay, and GOOD Agency, enabling charities to receive money directly from tweets and retweets on Twitter.

Charities can create a fixed amount hashtag, or a flexible one that allows the donor to choose how much they want to give.

Last week a new digital tool was launched that allows you to live-stream videos to Twitter.

It’s called Meerkat and it’s very simple and straightforward to use. It's taken the technology world by storm - according to The Wall Street Journal it had more than 15,000 users signed up in the first three days!

Twitter for communities

Twitter is a great digital tool for anyone involved in a community project, and used in the right way, could provide you and your work a real boost, whether that’s through publicity, garnering advice or even just as a celebration of your achievements.

This week we are hearing how Karl Wilding, the Head of Policy and Research at NCVO is using digital tools. Karl leads a team of voluntary sector public policy analysts. He also managers NCVO's 'futures' work, which tries to understand how the voluntary sector is changing over the next decade. Sign up to receive the Top 5 digital tools in your inbox!
