What could YOU do online?

Mon, 14/07/2014 - 11:26 -- Victoria Lawson

The eighth national Get Online Week is coming! On 13-19 October 2014 the annual digital inclusion campaign will once again hit towns and cities all over the UK.

Get Online Week is all about getting people in your community to see what they can do online - from keeping in touch with friends and family to saving money, enjoying hobbies or applying for jobs.

If you think you can run an event, reaching out to people to show them the benefits of being online, then pop over to www.getonlineweek.com to join the campaign. Everyone who signs up to run an event will receive a pack of posters and other marketing bits and pieces to help you reach out to people in your community, plus session plans and ideas to make your event a success.

But don’t worry if you can’t commit to holding an event - there are loads of other ways to get involved. The Get Online Week partners’ pack makes it easy for you to spread the word on social media, or add short articles and web banners to your own website or newsletters.

Finally, if you know someone who would benefit from a bit of help with computers and the internet, then get over to www.getonlineweek.com during October to search for your nearest event, or call 0800 77 1234 to be pointed to your nearest centre.
